Angela said... If you are staying more than a day in Fiji, and you want to see what real Fiji is like, absolutely do the Sigatoka River Safari. The jet boat was fun, but to me the best part of the trip was the village. We visited the Naveyago Village and the villagers were so amazing - welcoming and friendly. The kava ceremony was interesting and there was lunch and entertainment after a tour of the village.
The guides (ours for the day were Capt. Josephina and Capt. Jack) were very knowledgeable and obviously enjoy their jobs. They tell great stories and of history of the river and the villages along it.
Don't forget to wave to the kids in the river as you go by!
